Authorities App – Watch Authentication & Ownership System

The Watch Seal (Authorities App) is a blockchain-backed platform for authenticating watches and other high-value items, recording ownership, and enabling secure resale with a tamper-proof history of every piece.

From workbench to immutable record.

Every key event in a watch’s life — initial authentication, ownership transfer, and re-authentication — is written to a dedicated blockchain layer. This creates a permanent, auditable trail that protects collectors, dealers, and buyers.

Instead of relying on paper certificates or screenshots, you get a cryptographically-linked history that cannot be quietly edited later.

System at a glance
  • Blockchain-based authentication and ownership tracking
  • Three primary roles: Authenticator, Owner, Viewer
  • Royalty tokens on each authentication / transfer
  • Temporary 24h access codes for buyers
  • Permanent internal archive for all events

Who the system is built for

1. Authenticators

Verified watchmakers & professionals

Apply through a strict KYC pipeline, submit credentials, references, and identity documents, then perform inspections and create watch profiles with full serials and high-resolution photos.

2. Watch owners

Private, secure ownership vault

See all authenticated items tied to your profile, manage status (Owned → Released), and share short-lived viewer codes with buyers — without exposing your identity.

3. Viewers

Buyers & third-party verifiers

Use an owner-provided access code to review a single watch profile, valid for 24 hours. Optionally locate nearby authentication centers when you’re ready to re-authenticate.

Authenticator workflow & responsibilities

Registration & verification

Authenticators submit full personal details, identity documents, watchmaking credentials, and two character references. Admins review and approve applications after a phone interview.

  • Full legal name, address, employer
  • ID (front & back) and profile photo
  • Watchmaking credentials / certification
  • Two references with contact details
  • Business data if they operate a workshop or boutique

Creating watch profiles

Once approved, authenticators inspect each item in depth and build a structured profile: serials, materials, condition, and photos.

  • Brand, model, full description
  • Weight, dimensions, condition
  • Serials for case, bracelet, movement, caseback, clasp, box
  • High-resolution photo set (dial, movement, serials, box & papers)
  • Linked owner identity & contact data

Ownership, resale, and blockchain lineage

Each authentication or re-authentication writes a new block with watch metadata, serials, owner IDs, authenticator IDs, timestamps, and hashes linking back to previous records.

When an owner releases a watch, it disappears from their active list but remains in a permanent internal archive and on-chain history. The next authenticator can only work on it after scanning the QR / NFC or entering its unique ID, and only if the status is eligible.

Royalty structure

Every successful authentication or ownership transfer can generate tokenized royalties shared between:

  • The authenticator who performed the inspection
  • The watch owner (current or previous, per business rules)
  • The platform / company

These tokens can be held as rewards or, in future phases, traded based on defined tokenomics.
